▼Introduction
-
Takao Ikeda is the 2nd generation proprietor of Cha no Ikedaya, a small tea shop operated by himself, his wife, and his sons (Yohei is our contact). The shop was started in 1945, and continues to be located outside of the West Gate of Shinjuku Station. Takao Ikeda himself spent 10 years working in the tea production industry in Kawane, Shizuoka, and is a certified tea appraiser (kanteishi). We selected Ikeda-san's shop for listing on Yunomi because of his extensive selection as a merchant, and his skill as a tea leaf blender (creating exquisite pure green tea products by blending leaves from various sources).
